Infrastructure DevelopmentElectronics Manufacturing Cluster at IMT, Sohna

The Background
Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY), Government of India notified Modified Electronics Manufacturing Clusters (EMC 2.0) Scheme on 1st April 2020 and its subsequent guidelines were notified on 1st June 2020 to provide financial assistance for setting up of Electronics Manufacturing Cluster (EMC) Projects and to create an ecosystem with relevant supply chain for developing India as Electronics Manufacturing Hub. 
Under the Scheme, the Ministry has approved setting up of Electronics Manufacturing Cluster at IMT Sohna over an area of 500 acres with Haryana being 2nd State to receive approval under the EMC 2.0 Scheme on 30th September 2021 from MeitY. Haryana State Industrial & Infrastructure Development Corporation Ltd. (HSIIDC) has been appointed as Project Implementation Agency (PIA) for this project.

Location: 
•    On National Highway 248A and Kundli-Manesar-Palwal Expressway
•    46 kms distance from the Indira Gandhi International Airport
•    34 kms from Gurugram Railway Station and 61 kms from New Delhi Railway Station
•    50 kms from Inland Container Depot, Tughlakabad and 36 kms from Associate Container Terminal, Faridabad

Area: 500 acres reserved for Electronics Manufacturing Cluster, at IMT Sohna out of the 1500 acres (approx.) area with key infrastructure:
•    300 acres of area under Industrial Plots
•    Rs.74,000+ sq.m area for Ready Built Factories
•    Rs.25,000+ sq.m area for Business Trade and Convention Centre
•    Rs.22,000+ sq.m for Tool Room and Design Centre
•    Rs.13,000+ sq.m for Employee Housing 
•    Rs.18,000+ sq.m for Commercial Centre
•    Rs.5,000+ sq.m for Startup Facilitation Centre

Status: Layout Plan Approved, Development work is yet to be initiated.
Incentives*: 
•    Land subsidy with upto 50% concession
•    Interest subsidy of 6% on term loan for MSMEs for 7 years
•    Employment subsidy of INR 36,000 per employee for 7 years
•    100% Net SGST Reimbursement for 10 years
•    100% Electricity Duty exemption for a period of 10 years 
•    Special incentives package for ultra-mega and mega projects

Anchor Unit:
Out of total saleable area of 291.69 acres, 178 acres has already allotted to Anchor unit i.e. M/s. ATL Battery Technology (India) Private Limited with their proposed investment of Rs. 7,197 crore (in phases) and proposed employment of 6786 personnel. The anchor unit has started implementation of the project.
